Resourced love

I’m often asked to paint for people to mark special occasions. I had the honour to paint for a couple who got married this week. When I was asked to paint for them I had an image in my mind straight away of a beautiful lake, tranquil and calm. Two swans looking eye to eye with heart shaped necks to symbolise 1 Corinthians 13, a passage about what love looks like. I hadn’t intended to paint a tree in the picture but as I painted I included a mighty Oak. Its roots are long and deep and are sunk deeply into the lake. As I painted I thought about two verses from the bible:Psalm 1:‘They are like trees that grow beside a stream,
that bear fruit at the right time,
and whose leaves do not dry up.
They succeed in everything they do.’Isaiah 61:‘Rename them “Oaks of Righteousness”
planted by God to display his glory.
They’ll rebuild the old ruins,
raise a new city out of the wreckage.
They’ll start over on the ruined cities,
take the rubble left behind and make it new.’If you would like me to paint for you please visit this page for more information and get in contact with me.
