I had a meeting today in London and as I walked to the venue I saw this notice:
Happiness levels may rise to explosive levels.
But this silly sign got me thinking. I meet a lot of bored Christians. I really do.
There’s no risk of happiness becoming too explosive as they’ve lost the day by day adventure of following in the slipstream of the one who says: “Follow me and I will teach you to fish for people.”
Some have given up completely and are just going through the motions.
To be a Christian is to change this world for Jesus. We’re commanded and there really isn’t a plan B.
It has been said that at the heart of the human problem is the problem of the human heart.
The good news message is about a new start, a new heart, being born again.
To bring this news and to offer to pray for people is a heart thumping adventure.
Like yesterday, heading out into the streets armed with gifts and a message. Meeting strangers, looking to connect with people with the message we brought. It was terrifying! But so good too. The buzz and excitement afterwards as we reflected on who we had met. It was so good!
What adventure is Jesus calling you to where your happiness levels run the risk of becoming explosive?
