A life of worship

Last night we welcomed Allan McKinley, worship leader from Glasgow to our Encounter worship night at Cambourne Church in Cambridgeshire.

He led us in sung worship as well as teaching about living a life of worship. The one thing that spoke to me from his talk was about being free from idols that we can worship rather than the Living God.

For Allan his idol used to be food. He invested time, money and effort into eating (mostly unhealthy foods) and subsequently he used to weigh 34 stone. Over the past few years Allan has lost 12 stone! His honest and open way of teaching us was powerful and people responded for prayer for different idols that they had.

Coupled with a time for hearing from God and some amazingly spot on prophetic art from Kate Green the evening was so good!

If you live near Cambourne please feel free to join us as we seek to encounter God and enter into His presence.

Encounter is a new evening service gathering once a month on the 4th Sunday at 7pm. I co-lead it with Matt and John who head up the worship band at our Church. For more information follow this link.
