What makes you happy?

It’s been a long day and I’ve got a bit of a wait for my next train back home, so a cup of earl grey tea felt in order… And I was rather desparardo’s for the loo too.

So I dived into a Pret, one that I haven’t been to before and asked the manager if I could use the loo before buying a drink, but she said the rules were to order first and then use the facilities!

Even though I thought it a bit unfair I ordered my tea and asked how her day was going.

She spoke about her day and then said the tea was on the house (which always makes my day!) And this free tea takes me into the 20’s of free hot drinks I’ve been given at different Pret’s over the last year or so!

She then commented that I seemed happy. Without thinking I said, “do you know what makes me happy?” She shrugged her shoulders. “Jesus makes me happy!” I replied.

We then spoke about the things in life that give a temporary happiness, but that the lasting deep happiness only comes through Jesus.

I would have carried on talking…. But I needed to use their bathroom!

As I enjoy this delicious Earl Grey tea (free advertising for Pret for all the free drinks they’ve given me) I want to ask you a simple question: ‘what makes you happy?’

If you don’t know how much you are deeply loved by Jesus, may you experience the happiness of being known and loved by the one who declares: ‘I came to give you life, life to the full.’ John 10.10

  1. Chris, I was in Peterborough on Sunday afternoon and was very upset to see so many rough sleepers in the City Centre. Do you know if there is any provision for them please? Grace and Peace Roy Pope Ramsey Forty Foot Sent from my Hudl
