Positive discrimination

We’ve heard of some people who live and work in Peterborough who are originally from Eastern Europe who have been jeared at and told to ‘go home’ since Brexit.

As a chaplaincy team on Friday we wanted to show love and welcome to people, especially those from Eastern Europe and decided to give out flowers and hugs, especially looking out for those who may have felt unwelcome since the referendum.

It was such a simple gesture but one which gave an opportunity to talk of God’s love and the amazing plans that he has for the lives of those we gave flowers to.

On the whole people were grateful to recieve gifts, some wanted to know more and we were able to talk about our faith with those who wanted to.
