I finished this painting today at lighthouse cafe: ‘Spreading hope.’
The dandelion is ripe for the breath of the wind to scatter its seeds wherever the wind takes them. I was thinking about how hope is shared with those who lack. This is done in often random ways, and a small seemingly insignificant action can produce much hope for those who desperately need it.
Now and again it’s life transforming and the bearer of hope is non the wiser as to how hope has been transferred or the significance of kindness and love shown in the name of the one who says:
“Are you tired? Worn out? Burned out on religion? Come to me. Get away with me and you’ll recover your life. I’ll show you how to take a real rest. Walk with me and work with me—watch how I do it. Learn the unforced rhythms of grace. I won’t lay anything heavy or ill-fitting on you. Keep company with me and you’ll learn to live freely and lightly.” Matthew 11.28 (From the Bible.)
