Evangelism that doesn’t make people feel rubbish about themselves

Just been thinking about how I engage with people and this old blog came to mind…

Much faith sharing starts from the premise that all people have a problem and they need to know it… They’re sinners.

While I understand this idea and terminology (we all have or have had a broken relationship with God) I would much prefer to start with the ideas of people’s worth, value and ‘made in God’s image-ness.’ To see that, while our relationship with God may be bust, his relationship towards us is beautifully infinite and he sees and knows each one of his children that live in this world. I want to show that people are known and loved deeply by God, so much so that he would give His very best for them.

I’ve recently used creative ways of engaging with people to encourage them to think of what God thinks of them. Like a simple mirror with some simple words (above) Or take the circle prayer for…
